This morning, Casey and Katherine packed their things to catch an early flight back to Florence. But for once, Emily and I didn't have an early flight to catch. We had a flight at 5:30pm, so we had the morning to spend at the beach! We woke up and went to breakfast (which sucked) then headed to a beach that was right down the street from our hotel. This one was the most public one we had been to; there was a boardwalk right behind us with dozens of restaurants and hotels. We found a cozy spot on the sand, laid out our towels and relaxed for about three hours. We had to check out of the hotel, so we both had our backpacks and all of our stuff with us. Similar to Friday...after we ditched our hotel, we had the taxi driver just drop us off right at the beach where Casey and Katherine were, so we had our stuff all day then too. We decided that we had been carrying our bags with us more than they had been in a hotel. We looked like true "backpackers." Hanging out at the beach with all of our stuff.
But it was so nice to be able to wake up and enjoy the day rather than rush off the to airport! Ryanair and easyJet and all these other cheap airlines we fly always have Sunday morning flights that leave SO early. We laid on the beach with all about 2:30, then decided to get some lunch before heading to the airport. We stopped at a little corner restaurant and grabbed a chicken sandwich that was actually delicious. Then we went back to the hotel so they could call us a cab.
We ended up getting to the airport
way too early. The Ibiza airport is about 1/10 the size of the airport in Milan. We checked in and got through security in about 10 minutes, then had over an hour until our flight even started boarding.
Bummer! Could have been an extra hour of beach time! Everything went smoothly there. We got home at around 9:00pm relaxed and tanned :)
