Today we had a field trip in our Fashion Marketing Communication class. We received a handout in the beginning of the semester outlining the schedule for the course, and it said that today we had a field trip at 11:00 to Corso Como. Corso Como is a fashion and design district in Milan (for the rich and the famous). We were happy about the late start; usually class starts at 9:00am or 10:00am. However, when we arrived to class at about 10:55, the door to the classroom was locked and there was no one there. We called up one of our classmates, and apparently the field trip had started at 9:00am. Oopsies. We ended up meeting the class there and catching the last part of it.

Afterwards, Caitlin and I decided to walk around Milan a little bit. It was a beautiful day out and we also had nothing better to do. We went to the Duomo, grabbed lunch at Luini's, then went into La Rinascente. It is a five store department store right behind the Duomo, and for some reason I had never been in! We went in just to look around, the entire building is completely filled with only the most expensive designer brands and clothes. And it has products from every designer possible. I was so jealous of the people walking out of the with six shopping bags in each hand.
Must be nice! On the top floor, there was about six different cafe's, four different restaurants, and even a little mini organic grocery store. I ended up getting a 5E chocolate/banana milkshake, and it was delicious. Everything was outrageously expensive. There was a sushi restaurant on the balcony with amazing views of the Duomo. Afterwards, we walked around the Center a little more, enjoying the nice weather, then eventually took the metro home.
