Last night was the best night sleep I had ever gotten in my life. I completely crashed when we got back to the hotel. Waking up at 3:30am then having the function the entire day took a toll in my body. But I slept in till about 11:00am today, then laid out on our balcony till the rest of the crew woke up around noon. We all got our bathing suits on then headed to the beach. Today we wanted to try out a new beach; no point in going to the same beach when there are about 1,000 to choose from on this island. The receptionist at the front desk gave us a recommendation, so we took his word for it and headed out. This beach was called Es Cana, and it was more public then the one we were at yesterday, but just as beautiful. And they had chairs for us to use again which was awesome. We got a great spot right in front of a beach bar that played tropical music the entire time we were there. We all sunbathed for a couple hours, dozing in and out of sleep and loving life :) It was funny how we all said "it's so nice to take a vacation!" ...like we haven't been on vacation for the last three months! :) Hehe...but it was nice to just sit and relax on the beach for a weekend. Usually when we travel for the weekend we are out and about the entire day, darting across cities trying to see as much as we can! But not here. There aren't any sights in Ibiza; I really don't know what we would have done if the weather hadn't been so nice. We got so lucky with the weather! It was 80 and sunny and breezy the entire time we were there. Absolutely perfect<3 The water was still very cold, but Casey and I took a plummet one time. Enough so that I can safely say that I swam in the Mediterranean Sea this weekend.
For lunch we went to another little beach restaurant. We wore our bathing suits and I went barefoot. I got a surprisingly delicious chicken sandwich. And I am growing up. This weekend, for the first time in my life, I didn't bother to ask for my sandwiches without tomato, and I ate them. And I didn't hate them. After lunch we went back to our seats and sunbathed for another couple hours. We laid out till about 6:00pm. The sun there is so much more intense. The four of us used an entire bottle of sunscreen over the course of two and 1/2 days. Usually a bottle of sunscreen lasts me an entire summer! And the sad part is, we also simultaneously used an entire bottle of Aloe Vera too. It was pathetic how pale we were.
When we got home, we took a shower then drenched our bodies in Aloe Vera. We all let it soak in for a little, then got ready then walked around until we found a restaurant that looked appealing. And Chinese food definitely struck our fancy. Emily and I had Chinese one time in Milan and it was actually pretty good, so we decided to try out Spanish Chinese food. And as expected, it was barely mediocre. After dinner, we went back to the hotel with the intent of going out, but it never happened. We were all exhausted from being out in the sun all day, so we ended up letting time get away from us as we sat and talked in our room. It was so nice hanging out and catching up with Casey :)
