I felt a lot better when I woke up today. My stomach didn't hurt and I wasn't feeling nauseous anymore. I took the medicines that the doctor prescribed me and hoped I could take Kevin into the center today. However, I was so, so, so tired. I was going to tough it out and go anyways, but I couldn't even walk up the stairs without being exhausted. Literally...I walked up the stairs and needed to rest at the kitchen table. At first I thought it was just because my body was tired from the last day and 1/2. But I was unusually tired, so I googled the side effects of the meds, and sure enough: drowsiness, extreme tiredness, lack of energy, exhaustion...pretty much every word for tired. So, we took our shoes off and went back downstairs. I was hoping we could go a little later. I took the pill when I woke up at 9; I figured the further removed I was from it, the more energy I would have. We watched about five episodes of Glee, caught up on Grey's Anatomy, and watched The Social Network. (At least I was able to satisfy some of my cravings listed here
here). It wasn't the afternoon I had in mind, but at least it wasn't spent on my bathroom floor.

Kevin and I at the Duomo |
Around 4:00, I decided I had enough energy to go to the Center for a little. The weather was perfect and I really wanted to show him around just for a little. We walked to the metro, took the Green line, switched onto the Red, and I'm so glad we did. The metro stop is directly outside the Duomo, and Kevin's face was priceless when he turned around and saw the humongous Duomo. It really is unbelievable huge and so intricate. We walked around the Duomo and then we both went in! It was the first time I had been in the Duomo, and it's even bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. Just like on the outside, there are statues everywhere on the inside, a spectacular alter, and as always, breathtaking ceiling art. Afterwards, we walked to the La Scala, the Opera House. I've never been inside, but apparently it's incredible. I don't really want to see an Opera, not really my cup of tea, but I would love to sneak in one time just to see what it looks like! Then I showed him the mall, where the first Prada store his. Not exactly his cup of tea, but the mall is pretty incredible. It's all designer stores (and a McDonalds) and everything looks super ritzy. We were only in the Center for about an hour and half, but I was so glad I got to show him a little glimpse of Milano!

After we got home, we relaxed for a bit before going to Apertivo! I am always telling Kevin about my Apertivo experiences here in Italy, so I had to show him what it's all about! Good Apertivo's are hard to come by, but we have scoped many out several around our place over the last two months. We have pretty much narrowed it down to two. One is about a 12 minute walk...they making some pretty awesome Miami Vices, and the food is almost decent. They do have an amazing fruit salad, which we devour every time we go. And its only 6E. The other one is about a 20 minute walk; the food is better, but the drinks aren't as good. And this one is 8E. Because I was struggling from exhaustion, we decided to go to the closer one. At first, Kevin thought it was awesome. 6E for a drink and an all-you-can-eat buffet is like heaven for boys! He solidly had about 5 plates of food :) However as we were walking home, he agreed with the inevitable feeling we always have upon leaving Apertivo...full, but not satisfied. We spent the rest of the night hanging out, watching some more TV shows, and resting. And I vowed to not take the medicine my doctor gave me the next morning; I was so pumped to have some energy back!
