Day 17: Wednesday, February 2, 2011

This morning we woke up and went to class.  It was the first time we had been to this one; it seems so weird that we still have classes we haven't been to and its February.  Speaking of, is it really already February???  Am I already on Week 3 of being here?? Dear study abroad trip, SLOW DOWN. Thank you :)

Looks like a painting :)
Our teacher was born and raised in Washington DC.  He's really cool and down to earth.  And best of all, he let us out after an hour; can't complain!  Afterwards, the three of us went into the Center.  We walked all around the city, getting lost in the midst.  It was a beautiful day though, so it felt so great to walk around and be outside!

We shopped, made some necessary buys, aka, a brown leather coat and a purse :)  We also checked out the gym prices, which are so OUTRAGEOUS.  100E per month.  That is absolutely insane.  And it's NOT even a good gym!  It's one little room!  I couldn't believe they charged that much.  Obviously, we passed on that.

McDonalds menu...totally different!

Then, I'm ashamed to say, we got McDonalds.  We see them everywhere, and we have heard that they're actually a lot different here than in the states.  So we had to see what all the fuss was about.  And, it actually was pretty different.  It's A LOT nicer inside than back home, and some things on the menu are totally different!  (See picture to the left)  And, it's also not fast food in any way, shape, or form.  At home, the cashier will take one persons order, then someone in the back will get the food prepared, while the cashier has moved onto the next person in line.  Not in Italy!  The person who takes your order does everything, so it takes a really long time!  But we were in no hurry, besides the fact that we were starving!  We ended up getting something off the 1E menu, just as a little snack.  And it was delicious :)

Looks amazing :)
When we got back from the center, the boys came over to hang out and they also cooked us some dinner.  And it was even more delicious than the McDonalds. Way more delicious actually.  We had fajitas.  And they sauteed peppers, and onions, and cooked chicken, and made rice...and it was by far the best meal I've had since I've been here. :)  So I am eternally grateful!

Tonight, we will pack for Paris...because we are leaving tomorrow!  I can't even believe it.  So excited :)
